Renewable Energy Laboratory
Solar radiation measurement station
It includes a meteorological station (21 ° 03’12 “east long; 52 ° 09’37”
northern latitude; 130 m above sea level), which performs standard meteorological measurements and is equipped with Kipp & Zonen meters to measure the total intensity of solar radiation in the planes:
- horizontal (CM 11 pyranometer),
- South exposed with elevation adjusted to the maximum height of the Sun on a given day (CM 3 pyranometer),
- tracking the apparent motion of the Sun (direct radiation component is always perpendicular) and direct radiation (CHP 1 pyrheliometer aimed at the sun’s disc).
Stand for testing a compressor heat pump in a water / water system
The heat pump is equipped with a rotary, scroll compressor with stepless capacity control and the option of steam injection developed by Copeland. The heat extraction system consists of a buffer cylinder and an optional hot water cylinder connected to the condenser. The thermodynamic, hydraulic, measurement and control systems are integrated into the complete system by a controller that manages the variants and settings of the device’s operating parameters. The thermodynamic system optionally includes:
- an additional pre-condenser acting as a hot gas heat removal system,
- a heat exchanger as a variant with a liquefied refrigerant subcooler i
evaporated refrigerant superheater before the compressor, - EVI vapor injection system.
Smooth change of the system’s operating parameters enables the control of water pumps with the use of inverters, and the regulation of electrovalves takes place via actuators.
Heat pump test stand in the air / water system
The test stand was established in 2015. in cooperation with MITSUBISHI. Allows you to test a heat pump operating in an air / water system, under a variable heat load.
Air / air heat pump test stand
Tests of a heat pump operating in the air / air system, with the possibility of changing the efficiency of indoor units.
Test stand for photovoltaic panels
The test stand includes photovoltaic modules of three types: monocrystalline, polycrystalline and thin-film, placed on a supporting structure. The design is also a system that automatically tracks the azimuth of the sun (uniaxial tracking) by taking 12 steps. It is also possible to manually set 6 values of the module inclination angles (elevations). The photovoltaic installation can work autonomously or on a network. It is equipped with inverters and maximum power regulation systems.
Simulator of the heating and cooling system of the building with the possibility of heat storage
The simulator allows you to conduct research on heat flow management systems and the use of heat in a building with the use of energy storage in materials using phase changes (PCM). The sources of energy for heating, cooling and domestic hot water preparation are flat and vacuum collectors as well as heat pumps.
Weather station with an extended range of actinometric measurements and wind farms with a data recording and teletransmission system – a field stand
The station is equipped with: two Barani MeteoWind2 wind speed and direction sensors (placed at a height of 6 m and 12 m), two pyranometers by Kip & Zonnen CM 3, one placed on a horizontal plane at a height of 10 m, and the other in accordance with the elevation and azimuth of the module plane PV (30o, 189o) at a height of 10 m, barometer, hytherograph, rain gauge, recorder and data transmission system.
